I ran across him in heavy traffic and this car was really built. It had a blower and it was manual. I could tell how hard his clutch was. The baddest sounding mustang I've ever run into. Anyway, long story short, I was running race gas and was coming straight from the dyno tuning session. So he saw my 24psi boost. It took me third gear to smoke that car. He finally waived at me after he lost instead of trying to act like a hotshot like he was before he raced me. I know there are plenty fast cars around, Its just not very often you run into them. Zo
: Im driving home on the Beltway just now, and I see a nice looking cherry red Cobra to my right, about three cars back. There is quite a bit of traffic. He passes me, I pass him, that sort of thing. But he is cool, not doing any of that flooring it in traffic crap, and of course, neither am I, but it's obvious he wants to run. We don't try anything yet, but we both make it a point to stay close. We both take the same exit but still there is traffic. At the first light he is to my right, one car up. I roll down my passenger window to hear his car and it sounds good. Obviously not stock. There is no blower, but I can hear his cam looping away. He kinda revs it and it sounds good. Quick response, sounds powerful. My lane flows a bit faster and he is right behind me. Coming up to the next light it turns red and the two cars that were in front of me both U turn under the freeway. No one is in front of me, and the road ahead is clearing fast. We are on. All of a sudden I hear the tell tail sound of a nitrous purge. I look in the rearview and see it purging over his windshield. You can just tell what this guy is thinking. "Im going to spank this little jap car." The light turns green. I take out quickly but not a hard launch. As soon as the car to my right is out of the way, here he comes. As soon as I see him pull around me I punch it. I hit second, my tires break loose, the rear end kicks out to the right a little, the tires grab. Im watching my rpm's not him. 7000, I hit third. 7000, I hit fourth, look in my rearview and there he is, about seven car lengths back. I get into the far right lane cause my turn is coming up. He also makes a right, but it's all over, and he knows it. Forty miles per hour the rest of the way but he won't come up. I take a left at the next light, he goes straight.
